Merry Christmas!!

Wow! What a whirlwind several days this past week has been. We had not one, not two, but THREE Christmas celebrations with family. We were definatley spoiled this year and are so grateful that we are able to be so close to family to join in all these celebrations.

On Christmas Eve we headed to Nana and Pop-Pop Carlson's house for our annual Christmas Eve dinner. We got to my parent's house and Alex did something that he has never done before... We put him on the floor to play with his toys and all of a sudden he rolled himself clear across the room. Up until that point he had been pretty stationary. Now he is a rolling fiend. Alex received so many wonderful presents including LOTS of clothes, books and an awesome wagon that I think he will have many hours of fun with. Uncle Graig even took Alex on his maiden voyage around the house in the wagon. I think the most special gift he received was a handmade ornament from his Nana of his very own. My mom is going to give each grandchild an ornament every year for them to have when they start their own Christmas traditions.

Alex is contemplating the best way to get to those presents before Christmas...

Yes, in fact, most of those presents were for Alexander alone. He is one lucky boy.

Watch out ladies. Alex is going to be a heartbreaker one day.Alex's cool new wagon. I think Alex is going to have fun with this once he is walking.

Christmas Day we hosted my family for Christmas dinner for the very first time. We had Henry's parents over for Christmas brunch and presents. Henry made homemade cinnamon rolls (yes ladies, he is taken and I ain't giving him up). We had a fabulous morning with Alex. It was so much more rewarding than I ever imagined waking up with Alex in the morning in his Christmas pajamas and having him with us. Again he was very spoiled. He received lots of toys, clothes, etc. The boy is set for a LONG time. We then had my family over for Christmas dinner. We had our family's traditional favorite food, which was YUMMY! Needless to say, by the time everyone left, Henry and I were exhausted so we spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and just being together as a family.

Then on the Sunday after Christmas we had our annual "Carlson Christmas" with my Dad's family. Again, it was great being with family and not having to travel very far at all!!!!!

By the third round of presents, Alex kind of got the gist of opening the presents.

Here are some pictures from Alex's first Christmas. I was even able to forget about my job situation (or lack thereof) and enjoy the holiday with Alex and Henry. I hope that each of you had a very Merry Christmas as well.

What a cutie Alex is! Love all the photos, and we can totally relate to the multiple Christmas' and the professional gift opening by the last one. Evan actually really enjoyed the wrapping paper more than anything. He is warming up to his new toys now.

It's great to see how much you all are enjoying the parenting! :) It's so fun and challenging, isn't it? Evan's doing some more teething now, too. Poor little guy, we wish they would push on through so he can feel better!

Here's to a great 2009 with our boys!
