Cute Alex Story

So I know I have been posting a lot (many of you say that I am good at keeping this updated...it is easy to do when you sit in front of a computer all day for work)..anyway...the cutest thing happened this morning and I want to capture it before I forget it. (I am also doing this as a journal so I can keep it and tell Alex about his babyhood as he gets older).

So this morning I actually headed into the office to work from there instead of home. I usually work from home, so this required planning and a MUCH earlier morning than usual. I get up, get myself ready and around 7 AM go in and get Alex up for his morning feeding (kid was totally out of it and it was actually funny to watch him wake up...looked so confused for a few minutes). I change his diaper, sit down, nurse him and then spend a few minutes before heading out the door to catch my train. After I was done nursing Alex, I took him into our bedroom so Henry could watch him until he got up (lucky duck was still in bed snoozing). I gave Alex a kiss and told him I loved him and headed out the door. As I was leaving I turned around and said " Bye bye Alex, Mommy loves you" and waved at him. Alex was sitting up in bed looking at me leave and TOTALLY waved goodbye to me. As in, saw me wave, and waved back! I was soo happy I almost busted out in tears (and almost ruined my makeup, which looks pretty damn good today if I say so myself). So I decided to test his new trick again. I looked at Alex again, started waving and said "bye bye Alex, Mommy loves you" and he waved at me again!!!! He was so pleased with himself that he started smiling and laughing.

I guess it is one of those Mommy moments that I hope I never forget. It was just so precious to me that I just had to share it....
