Mother's Day Weekend

This past weekend I celebrated my 2nd Mother's Day and I got to spend the WHOLE weekend with my bud! On Saturday Alex took his grandmother's out to lunch at Panera Bread where he was, of course, adored. Both of his Grandmom's said he was so well behaved and he enjoyed talking and watching the activity around him. As our Mother's Day present to our Mom's we created a small scrapbook on Shutterfly of Alex's first year. Just a few of our favorite pictures from his first year put together so they had something tangible to share with friends and family. I am horrible at printing out digital pictures and giving them to family and I think they were a success....

After lunch we headed back to my mom's place. Henry was helping my brother install hardwood floors in his new house all day, so I decided to hang out and spend some time with my parental units. Alex loves playing with the toys at their house and we went and played outside and Alex got his very first wheelbarrow ride in Pop-Pops wheelbarrow! The only bad thing was that Alex refused to nap...ALL DAY. I tried putting him down around 2 and he screamed and screamed and screamed for a long time. Finally we just gave up and got him...he did well, but he was overly cranky at some points. That evening we had a family dinner with the 7 of us...me, Henry and Alex; my brother and sister-in-law and of course my parents.

Sunday was very low key. Henry was helping my brother again, so we didn't do much as a family and I took care of Alex all day and did some stuff around the house that I have been putting off.

Here are some pictures from this weekend....

Alex and his beautiful Grandmother's!
Lounging on the couch with Pop-pop shirtless. He was supposed to be napping.
Does this pose scream contentment or what?First wheelbarrow ride
When we got home that night, we had this beautiful sunset to welcome us home. I just had to take a picture of it.

What a picture! (The one of him sucking his thumb and shirtless on the couch) That will be one to hold on to for the future for some school slideshow.
