So have any of you had one of those perfect weekends...where you never want it to end and the memories you take away from the weekend will stay with you forever???? Well, I had one of those weekends this past weekend. As you know from a previous post, on Saturday we had Alex's birthday party. While I am still in shock and awe that I have a one year old son, I am very much enjoying how interactive he is and how much he loves his mommy. :)
So anyway, this weekend was absolutely beautiful! The weather...oh my...I wish it was this way forever. We actually turned the heat off and opened the windows to get some fresh air into our house. The weather was in the mid to high 60's every day! On Saturday we had a blast with Alex and the fam at the party and taking the babies for a ride in Alex's new wagon and on Sunday we spent the day as a family of just the three of us. We spent the morning lazing around (we were still tired from Saturday) and then we decided to go to a local park near where we live called Brandywine Park. This park is HUGE and it even has a zoo. Now, the zoo doesn't compare at all to Philadelphia, but still...it was free admission weekend and we thought it would be fun to get out of the house and spend some time outside. So that afternoon, off to the zoo we went. Alex saw a Siberian Tiger, lots of marmoset monkey's, Llamas, goats, River Otters, and the largest rodent in the world (I can't think of the name). After the zoo we went and walked along the Brandywine River and watched people feed the Geese (Geese are nasty buggers so we watched from a distance) and just enjoyed being outside. Then we headed to one of Henry's favorite places in the world...Lowe's, because we are finally narrowing down decorating ideas for Alex's bathroom. I am very excited about it and can't wait to show you all the final product! I think you will all agree...it is very "us" and I think it works with the yellow tiles and floor we inherited from the previous owners and can not afford to re-do!
After we got home from the zoo and the park I took Alex out for another spin in his wagon...which he loved!!! All the neighbors were outside enjoying the weather too. I felt as if everyone was coming out of hibernation!
Here are some pictures from Sunday at the zoo.....

On the other side of the picture you don't see the other goats bleating at the one on the pedestal. Reminds me of American politics sometimes...

Humm...I did not know they had a zoo. I will have to take Abigail. How far is it from West Chester??
Awesome pics from the birthday celebrations and such! I was waiting for them. :) I love seeing Alex grow, just a few months behind Evan. Alex, the little peanut, in the 10%, and Evan... well, Evan has been in the 75 - 90%. He's a big little guy. :) Love all the photos and the video! Keep them coming!
