Henry and I started off the weekend by visiting our new OBGYN at Paoli hospital. This was our first visit, so we weren't exactly sure what to expect. The visit went well. My uterus is measuring where it should at right below my belly button and we heard the heartbeat of our little boy. The nurse said his heartbeat was right around 150 bpm, which is very strong! My doctor also gave us the information to book our 20 week ultrasound appointment through the perinatal group.
I don't know if I like this OBGYN as much as my OB down south, but then again, I knew it would be hard to find an OB that was as great as Northside. But I mean, I believe for our needs this practice should be good. They answered all of our questions and gave us information to pre - register for the delivery and a list of classes that Paoli offers as far as childbirth and infant CPR. The one weird thing that both Henry and I noticed was the fact that one of the doctors (the one I am seeing in November) offers laser hair removal, which, from my understanding, PG women shouldn't do, but yet, his advertisements were ALL over the OBGYN office.
Then on Saturday I went to see my friend Carolyn, and her new house near Harrisburg. I had a great time and it was nice to have some one on one time with her as the next time I see her she will have had her baby girl!!! We did a lot of baby stuff together (of course since we are both pretty much at that stage together) and she actually gave me this HUGE box of clothes for the baby that she received from a friend of hers when she lived in TN. I don't think our baby will need any clothes for a while and the astonishing fact was that this pile of clothes had been picked over TWICE before it got to me. One of Carolyn's other friends took clothes out for her baby boy and then Carolyn took the more neutral clothes and I got the remainder.
There were a TON of newborn sleep sacks (which will be great because the days and nights will still be way cold until mid to late April here) and onsies, and all these great outfits! Most of the clothes were newborn (to 8lbs, so he will grow out of them quick) and 0 to 3 months and then 3 to 6 months, so we will still need a lot of clothes for when he gets older, but I don't see it being a problem! I now understand when parents say that their kids outgrew their clothes before they had a chance to wear some stuff! Between all the clothes that are bought for baby and given to baby, they have a HUGE wardrobe that they outgrow so quickly.
I also started feeling the baby move more consistently this weekend. I felt him quite a bit on Saturday night and into Sunday morning and then again last night. The movements are getting stronger and I am so happy to feel them because I know he is doing OK in there.
Then, on Sunday we had a birthday dinner for my little brother who turned 25 on Saturday. It was fun and sad at the same time as this was the first family function where my grandmother wasn't there. I could tell my grandfather was sad at first as he brought over some food that they had in the apartment that my grandmother loved, so he is starting the cleaning out process, but he seemed to get better towards the end.
Next weekend we are headed to Pittsburgh to see a Pitt football game! GO P-I-T-T!!!

Sounds like you kids are doing well up there! Thanks so much for these updates, don't know what I'd do without them! The weather's been nice down here, fall colors are just starting to show! Miss you lots.
