This past weekend was a fun weekend for Henry and I. We traveled back to Pittsburgh for the Homecoming game and we had a blast! It was nice to have a weekend where it was basically just Henry and I and we did something fun for the two of us...no moving, unpacking, etc...
We left on Friday afternoon and the usually boring drive on the turnpike was gorgeous with all the leaves changing colors. I have been rather disappointed by the colors, or lack thereof, in West Chester but we saw some amazing colors on our drive through the mountains.
We stayed with our friends Matt and Eve in Mt. Lebanon on both Friday and Saturday night. And we all went to the game on Saturday. The day of the game was GORGEOUS! It was sunny and warm weather, it was so nice to sit outside and enjoy one of the last beautiful fall days 2007 had to offer.
As usual, the game got off to a pretty crappy start against Cincinnati. Pitt's football team is not that good this year, so we did not expect anything brilliant from the team. However, Pitt pulled a fast one on us! We were losing ALL game until the last 5 minutes, when Pitt pulled ahead by a touchdown to win the game against ranked #23 Cincinnati!!!!!
That night we all went out to dinner and then we did some shopping. I was able to buy the baby the cutest Pitt outfit for next year's football season! I mean, he has an Eagles outfit already, it is only right that he has a Pitt outfit as well...
On Sunday, we had brunch with one of my best friends and sorority sisters Lianne. Henry, Lianne and I had a great time talking and catching up! It has been a long time since I last saw her.
After brunch we headed home....
It was a nice weekend and one we can't wait to do next year with our son!
