Summer and Fall Fun!

Adjusting to having a new baby in the house has made the summer and early fall just fly by! However in the midst of all the craziness that comes with a household with a newborn us Lange's did manage to have some fun!

We were able to take the boys on a picnic lunch at the park. I do admit it didn't work out exactly as I hoped it would, but it was still fun. It was insanely hot so it was uncomfortable to be outside and the play areas were scorching in the summer sun. Not to mention there were bees and wasps flying all over the place :( Then as we were getting ready to go home, Alex tripped and fell and scrapped up his face pretty badly. I think Mommy was more shaken then Alex was, but still...it was one of those scenarios where I could see it coming, but couldn't stop it. On the bright side, Wesley was all smiles :) This was nice because they are still pretty rare and far apart. Here are some pictures from our summer picnic....

All smiles :))))

In early September we took the boys to the beach for the weekend! I was a little apprehensive because the last time we tried to take Alex to the beach he hated everything about it (not to mention traveling with two small children). He hated the sand, the water..... Turns out a year makes a world of difference. Alex LOVED the beach. He and Daddy had fun making sand castles and then knocking them down. He loved playing in the little tidal pools that the ocean made. Even Wesley got to take a quick dip in the Atlantic ocean! He did not like it so much..... I would love to take the boys back again for a longer period of time, especially as they get older. I can see why so many families love taking beach vacations....

Not soon after our beach trip we took the boys to the zoo! Our friend Mandy is the Lead Primate Keeper and she was able to get us into the zoo for free! Alex was so fascinated by all the animals. He especially wanted to go into the Reptile House (yuck...Mommy opted out of that one) and loved watching the monkey's and primate. We saw bears, giraffes, tigers, turtles and even the cutest little bunnies. This was the first time we let Alex go into the petting zoo and he was able to pet and feed the sheep. It was a long day, but we had a great time! I can't wait to go back again. I am trying to find a reason (and the funds) for a yearly membership :) Here are some pictures from our fun day at the zoo!!!!

The boys all ready to hit the zoo in style!
They had an awesome Lego display there!
