Lots of Updates!!!!

Well obviously I am a slacker and haven't updated the blog in almost a year. What can I say....I started a new job and my life went something like this: get up, commute to work, commute home from work, take care of Alex, the pets and the house and fall exhausted into bed every night (oh and try to find some quality time with the hubby). Repeat for almost 10 months everyday and getting on a computer to blog was at the bottom of the priority list.

This past year has been a whirlwind of change for us as a family. Both Henry and I started new jobs in September. We both ended up with long commutes, so that took some adjustment, Alex started daycare for the first time and Henry's job demanded long hours so it was hard adjusting to having just me and Alex home for a lot of the time at night.

I guess the biggest (and the best change) came at the end of October. Henry and I found out that we would be adding a new addition to our family! It came as a shock, but once the initial reaction wore off we became so excited and couldn't wait to welcome our new baby into the family in June 2010. In February we discovered that we were adding another little boy to the mix and we couldn't have been even more excited. We were so excited to tell Alex that he was going to have a baby brother to love. I had this feeling all along that it was a boy and although I always envisioned my family with one girl and one boy, I love my two boys with all my heart and wouldn't change a thing!

Alex has done amazingly well for all the adjustments that have been thrown at him over the last several months. Adjusting to daycare, being moved to a new daycare (in preparation for the new baby), transitioning to a "big boy" bed. His flexibility continues to astound me and he adjusts better to change than I do! I had a really hard time letting my baby move into a "big boy" bed, but he took to it right away.

I guess I am blogging more for me than for anything else. I love looking back on old blog posts and seeing what milestones Alex hit and when and what was going on in our life and I want to continue that for our newest addition. So here we go...embarking on a new adventure: parenthood to two kids!!!!!!
