I'm Swelling :((

Oh boy, one of the things that I was hoping wouldn't happen during my pregnancy is....I am starting to swell. I don't know why this was one of my biggest fears, but here we go.... I noticed a few weeks ago that my wedding rings were starting to get tighter to wear and that the swelling wouldn't go down when I went outside in the cold. I decided to take them off as a precaution because I don't want my hands to swell and then not be able to get them off at all. So, at my last doctors appointment I told the doctor that I thought I was swelling and she checked and sure enough she said I was starting to swell. However, she said that swelling is a normal part of pregnancy and as long as I didn't gain too much weight in a short amount of time (which I haven't) and as long as my blood pressure was good (which it is) they aren't too concerned. Although, they will keep an eye on it whenever I go for appointments.

I guess the reason I am bummed is I was hoping to wear my wedding rings throughout my pregnancy. Now I just look like an unmarried, pregnant teenager. I swear I see people staring at me when I go out and I know they are thinking.."poor dear, got knocked up and she is so young" :)) OK, maybe my imagination is running away with me a little bit...

I started my commute back into the city this week, and let me tell you, in just the two short weeks that I stayed home and worked from home over the holidays, everything has become more difficult. From the stairs I have to take in the subway, to walking to the building with a computer bag, purse, lunch, etc. I really didn't anticipate how hard and how exhausting it actually would be. I am literally wiped by the time I make it into the office! Not to mention I keep bumping my belly against stuff..fridge doors, counters, etc.

I decided that I am not going to kill myself trying to get to the office 4 days a week now..I am going to cut my commute down to 3 and work from home 2 days. Hopefully the extra day at home will give me some more rest as I can sleep later than normal as well as not being as strenuous on my body. I get more work done from home anyway because I don't have over an hour commute each way.

Today marks the 32 week point in my pregnancy, which means officially only 8 weeks left!! (Unless he decides he wants an extra week in there) Baby Extravaganza is starting. This weekend Henry and I have an all day Preparing for Childbirth class and on Monday (1/14) we have our Labor and Delivery tour at Paoli! I am excited to see what kind of facilities they have....Then on 1/20, Henry's cousin is hosting a baby shower for us! I am very excited about that and then it will be time to start getting the room and everything ready for Alex's arrival!
