It has finally happened!!!!! Henry was offered a full time position as a Research Specialist at the University of Delaware!!! I am super excited!
The professor that he will be working with called Henry this morning and offered him the job. Unfortunately, the salary isn't as high as we were hoping, BUT...it is a full time job and Delaware doesn't have any income tax and their benefits (especially their retirement benefits) seems very good, so while our bottom line is lower right now we will still be able to start our lives up here AND save for our retirement, because come on, Social Security won't be around by the time we can finally retire. We can afford a house and move and of course, every woman's dream is that I will be living in the land of tax free shopping!!!!!
In another weird twist of fate. On Saturday Henry got an email from one of his contacts at Merck (the individual he interviewed with before for the rat position). Seems a Primate Cognition position (please don't ask me for any more details pertaining to this position as I don't know them :+) has opened up and she was wondering if Henry was interested in pursuing the position. Then again today, another of Henry's contacts (the previous grad student of Kim's) emailed him about the position as well as contacted the hiring manager about Henry. They are looking into whether they can replace the person that left and if they can, hopefully they will bring Henry in for interviews and who knows what could happen! I told Henry that he must have made a very good impression at Merck that two people within the company recommended him for this position....
We are very excited about these two opportunities and I must admit that I am a bit stressed as I was hoping to start finalizing details for childcare, etc, but now everything is on hold again. However, I will take it so that hopefully Henry will get the job he really really wants.

awesome, awesome, awesome! I knew that good things would happen - just sometimes they like to take your time!! I've never known ANYONE from Delaware. BTW, did I tell you one of my college roommates is moving to West Chester in the fall to start her Psy.D. at Widener?? More reasons to visit!!
GREAT NEWS, Brynn! That is so exciting. And so ironic that everything comes at once. Doesn't it always happen that way? :)
